Health disclaimer

Important disclaimer

EaseMove publishes general information guides and sells support products (compression socks, knee braces, lumbar belts, comfort accessories). This site does not diagnose, does not replace medical, physiotherapy, or pharmacy advice, and is not a treatment.

Emergency: call 911

Call emergency services (911) immediately if you have, among other signs:

  • sudden severe calf or leg pain, especially on one side, with redness, heat, or major swelling;
  • a cold, pale, or bluish leg, or a very weak pulse;
  • chest pain, severe shortness of breath, or sudden malaise;
  • weakness, numbness, or loss of control of a limb after trauma;
  • any symptom that seems serious or is getting worse quickly.

Health advice in Canada: 811

For nurse advice or to know whether you should see a clinician, use your province’s health line (811 / Health811 / Info-Santé in most provinces and territories). EaseMove is not an emergency service or a clinic.

Before using compression or braces

Talk to a health professional before higher compression (often 20–30 mmHg and above) or before buying a knee or back brace if you have, for example:

  • known or suspected peripheral artery disease (PAD), leg wounds, or severe neuropathy;
  • complex circulation issues, skin infection, or material allergies;
  • recent surgery, trauma, or pain that worsens when walking.

Compression socks and support braces do not treat PAD, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), or serious causes of pain. When in doubt, do not “try a product first”—get advice.
